With vast swathes of the country under lockdown, this Easter promises to be the strangest in living memory for many.
But that hasn’t stopped a community-minded lady in Florida from trying to make the springtime celebration even more memorable for the folks in her neighborhood.
42-year-old Abril Cestoni started secretly delivering little plastic Easter eggs to mailboxes in Flagler County at the beginning of the week.
Hers were no ordinary paschal treats, however. Each egg contained a bizarre mix of pornographic images and religious messages.
Deputies drew on tips and home surveillance video to establish that Cestoni would head off on a clandestine delivery round after finishing her shift at a nearby grocery store.
They pulled over her car and arrested her in the early hours of Thursday morning, ClickOrlando reports.
Cestoni admitted using her computer to generate the pornographic material. She also hinted at a motive, telling deputies that messages hidden inside the eggs were about the need for churches and pastors to give money to the destitute.
Cestoni had managed to deliver 400 of her homemade oval-shaped delights since Monday.
According to lucky recipients, each contained the same carefully curated selection of essential Easter items: a fish-shaped cracker, a sheet of toilet paper, a powdered drink mix and a crumpled pornographic image.
She “did not appear to be sick with COVID-19 symptoms, but she certainly needs some help,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.
Cestoni faces charges for violating Florida’s statewide stay-at-home order and at least 11 counts of distributing obscene material. She is being held on $7,000 bond.
Hilarious!
