Many criminals are out to kid the cops – but certain suspects are especially hard to handle.
A Georgia deputy had to deal with a rampaging looter of a different kind last week when a goat got into her cruiser and trashed it before skipping back out and knocking her to the ground.
Bodycam footage which has since gone viral shows the horned hoodlum unbalancing the cop with a headbutt after chewing through police paperwork and upending a beverage.
The animal had managed to hop into the vehicle through an open door while the unidentified officer with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was serving civil papers at a rural residence, the department said in a Facebook post.
The deputy in question habitually leaves the door of her vehicle ajar while visiting homes on her daily round, because she’s often chased away by angry dogs and occasionally needs quick access to her cruiser, the post explained
While still standing by the entrance of the home, the officer turned and noticed that the caprine intruder had jumped into her car through the open door and plonked itself into the driver’s seat.
She returned to her vehicle to tackle the suspect, but had difficulty coaxing the animal back out as it feasted on police paperwork and knocked over a drink.
The goat eventually complied and stepped out of the car, although the amused deputy still had her work cut out trying to wrest papers hanging from its voracious mouth.
The animal also had one final surprise up its furry sleeve, headbutting the officer to the ground as she tried to salvage the paperwork. But luckily for the goat, she saw the funny side and no arrests were made.
“Even though she was knocked to the ground she was not physically harmed in the incident,” the sheriff’s office said. “At the end of the day we all got a little laugh out of it and we hope you do as well!”
