“Dark web cannibal” sentenced to 40 years for plot to kill, rape, and eat young girl

The Texas man was busted by undercover agents in 2018 after posting ad on dark web seeking someone to murder and devour.

A Texas man who plotted to kill, rape and eat a 13-year-old will now have to make do with prison food after being sentenced to 40 years in the slammer.

Alexander Barter, 23, of Joaquin, Texas, was handed 480 months in federal prison on Thursday after he pleaded guilty to attempted coercion and enticement of a minor and distribution of child pornography.

The not so fine young cannibal also agreed to submit to a lifetime of supervised release when his jail term comes to an end, KLTV reported.

Barter was busted back in October 2018 after he posted an ad on the dark web seeking a volunteer to help him act out his twisted fantasies.

“I’d like to try necrophilia and cannibalism, and see how it feels to take a life,” he wrote on the dark web site. “If you’d be willing to let me kill you, are in the US (preferably in the south) and can travel by car, contact me.”

An undercover agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety spotted the ad and responded posing as a father willing to sacrifice his 13-year-old daughter.

Barter replied enthusiastically, checking the daughter’s age and asking the undercover officer, “Can we kill her?”

He then dreamt up a plan to meet the “father and daughter” for a supposed hiking trip which would allow him to get the teen to a hotel, where he would kill her, have sex with her corpse, and then eat her.

Barter even instructed the agent on how they could get away with the crime, telling him to buy a burner phone and new clothes to wear after the murder.

The budding cannibal was arrested outside his home in Joaquin, Texas, as he set out to meet the undercover officer and his “daughter” at a pre-arranged location. Cops found a knife and plastic trash sack in a bag he was carrying at the time.

US Attorney Stephen Cox praised law enforcement for acting swiftly to prevent an unspeakable crime.

“As this chilling case demonstrates, online talk is not always just talk,” Cox said. “The constant vigilance of our law enforcement partners has prevented an evildoer from finding a likeminded accomplice and bringing his grisly plan to fruition.”

Mark Dawson, special agent in charge of HSI Houston, called the case one of the worst he’s ever handled.

“In my 23-year career in law enforcement, this is among the most morally depraved and appalling criminal conspiracies that I have come across,” Dawson said.
