A Clearwater massage therapist took the concept of full-body relaxation way too far, according to police—and now he’s facing a felony charge and a six-figure bond.
A licensed massage therapist in Florida is behind bars on a $100,000 bond after allegedly giving a client much more than a deep tissue treatment—whether he asked for it or not.
Authorities say Hector Posadas, 45, was arrested for felony sexual battery after a December 29 appointment at Botanica Day Spa in Clearwater went wildly off-script. Court records recently obtained by The Smoking Gun reveal that Posadas, a masseur and skincare specialist, allegedly took some unauthorized liberties with a male client, turning what should have been a routine session into a criminal investigation.
According to the victim, everything seemed normal until the end of the session when Posadas allegedly touched his penis. The client assumed it was an accident—until things escalated. Moments later, Posadas allegedly reached into the man’s underwear, grabbed him, and performed a non-consensual sex act. The shocked client immediately jumped off the massage table, ended the session, and went straight to the police.
A forensic exam later revealed the presence of “foreign DNA” in multiple areas of the victim’s body and underwear, though an arrest affidavit did not confirm a match.
When questioned, Posadas initially denied the allegations but quickly lawyered up and declined further comment. Meanwhile, Florida Department of Health records show that Posadas voluntarily surrendered his massage therapy license, originally issued in 2016—perhaps an acknowledgment that his career in therapeutic touch had reached an irreversible dead end.
Born in Venezuela, Posadas resides in a Largo condo he purchased in 2022 for $165,000. His personal life has seen some turbulence as well—he married a man 18 years his senior in 2016, but the union ended in divorce five years later.
Despite the serious charges, Posadas’ LinkedIn page still boasts about his ability to “balance client needs while delivering exceptional service” and credits his dedication to “client retention.” Safe to say, the retention rate has taken a serious hit.
Posadas was scheduled to appear in court on February 10. Whether he can massage his way out of this one remains to be seen.
