Rendezvous took a bizarre turn after stranger passed note urging the woman to “run”.
Most of us have experienced the awkwardness of a bad date.
The other party talks about themselves exclusively, or proceeds immediately to a full on interrogation.
It’s obvious within seconds that there is zero chemistry. But we must allow a respectable amount of time to pass before making our excuses and leaving.
Occasionally, we may find ourselves meeting up with a psycho and there is nothing to do but run for the hills.
Certainly, a woman’s recent date night in Virginia appeared to fall into the latter category. Except a bystander was apparently worried that she wasn’t reading the warning signs and decided to intervene to leave her in no doubt.
The stranger passed her an unsolicited note telling her to “run” from her companion because of “too many red flags.”
Her description of the bizarre warning amassed thousands of likes on Twitter before the woman locked her account, the Daily Mail reported.
The tweet posted over the weekend by user Hadia S recounted how the rendezvous started innocently enough as Hadia joined a man for a coffee date.
However, when her date got up to go the bathroom, “the gay guy” sitting behind her passed her a note scribbled on the back of a CVS receipt, the woman recalled.
An accompanying photo shows the message, which cautioned: “Too many red flags. Run. Be safe girl.”
The bizarre incident garnered a lot of attention on Twitter with many users urging Hadia to share more details of the date, specifically with regard to the “red flags” in question.
Hadia has since obliged in a series of follow-up tweets. One of the warning signs, she recounted, was that the two didn’t see “eye-to-eye” on the recent scandal involving rapper Da Baby, who sparked outrage earlier this month over homophobic remarks — although she didn’t specify which side she took on the issue. Another involved the mystery man’s alleged support of Kevin Samuels, a YouTube dating guru who reportedly urged his male followers to make misogynistic and even violent comments toward women.
However, despite recognizing the “red flags” early on, Hadia said she ultimately decided against aborting the date as she wanted to debate Mr. Wrong on the issues they disagreed on.
She recognized that her inaction likely didn’t sit well with her note-passing protector, joking in a subsequent tweet, “I’m sure my guardian angel was exhausted and was like “B***H, LEAVE!”
Nonetheless, Hadia insists that the words of warning were “greatly appreciated and added some laughs to my night,” adding that “there won’t be a second date.”
