A group of women in Florida showed an appetite for far more than a nutritious meal after a drive-thru order at a Popeye’s restaurant descended into a wild brawl and robbery.
A crazy video filmed by a customer caught the “strong-arm robbery” unfolding in the drive-thru lane of the popular fried chicken chain in Lantana on Tuesday.
The violence kicked off just after 1 p.m. after one of the four women got into an argument with the cashier, whom she proceeded to spit at and assault, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 29-second clip begins with the woman furiously raining blows at the unfortunate employee through the drive-thru window while standing next to her crew’s silver Nissan Sentra.
Not to be outdone, a second suspect then gets out of the driver’s seat, followed by two other women who join in the attack, as one of them reaches inside.
“One of the female suspects reached into the window and grabbed money from the register,” deputies said in a statement.
The four unidentified crooks then got back into the Sentra and made a getaway, according to cops.
Customer Demarco Quant, who recorded the attack, told the Sun Sentinel that one of the women sprayed something through the window before the group drove away.
“They pepper sprayed them,” he said. “I couldn’t walk into the restaurant because everyone was running out coughing.”
It’s unclear what type of spray was used.
Officials told the New York Post that no arrests had been made as of early Wednesday and described the investigation as “still very active and ongoing.”
Investigators are looking for a silver-gray Nissan Sentra with Florida license plate GVZP04.
Anyone able to identify the women from the footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at (800) 458-8477, or online at http://crimestopperspbc.com.
