Ladies who lunch are usually supposed to be a genteel bunch.
Certainly, they are expected to pick up the tab for their fare, or have another kind sponsor do so.
However, a lady in Colorado is accused not only of not paying for her food at a local restaurant but pulling out a gun and shooting dead a teenager who tried to remonstrate with her.
The femme fatale was among a party of eight that got into an argument with a waitress about their food being cold. The patrons were said to have become rowdy when open doors at the establishment supposedly led to their food cooling down too quickly. That is when they refused to pay, police said.
When the waitress threatened to call the police, the party walked out of the restaurant in the city of Aurora — and the server followed them. The doomed teenager, named as Rudy Arguello-Rios and another person who was seated nearby followed the group outside to defend the waitress.
The confrontation happened at the Mariscos El Rey restaurant on East Iliff Avenue in the city.
A witness said there was a fight outside the establishment — and Arguello-Rios, 18, confronted an armed woman, and tried to grab the gun, according to a report from CBS Denver.
“He was transported to an area hospital were tragically he succumbed to his injuries a short time later,” investigators stated, according to the outlet.
The female suspect, Jacqueline De Paz, 28, was taken into custody later during a traffic stop.
De Paz is accused of second-degree murder and is being held at the Aurora Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
