Arkansas gunman allegedly opened fire as he was angry at the small portions on his pie. Later hands himself in.
Michael Brown (Pulaski County Sheriff's Office)
Pizza topping is undoubtedly a serious and highly contentious issue – take the Laskas over in Ohio who were recently dismayed to find the pepperoni on their pie provocatively arranged in the shape of a swastika.
However, there’s no excusing an Arkansas man who got so pissed at the paucity of topping on his pizza this week that he fired gunshots through the front window of the pizzeria responsible.
Michael Brown was arrested Monday on multiple felony charges after the disgraceful incident at a Pie Five restaurant in Little Rock.
Pie Five employee Eboni Smith said Brown grew irate with her as he felt she wasn’t putting enough toppings on his pizza, according to a Little Rock Police Department report published by The Smoking Gun.
Smith called her manager in an attempt to diffuse the situation. But when she tried handing the phone to Brown he allegedly threw the handset into the unfortunate server’s face.
Another employee then asked the implacable customer to leave, at which point he began arguing and went outside to his van. Brown then walked back to the restaurant toting a gun.
By now the pizzeria entrance had very sensibly been locked. Yet that didn’t stop the berserk Brown allegedly opening fire and shooting the glass out of the restaurant’s front door.
The greedy gunman then returned to his white van and drove off.
Brown later turned himself in and admitted during police questioning that he had been annoyed about the portion size of the food he received.
He also confessed to grabbing a gun from his work van and shooting out the pizzeria’s window.
Brown was charged with six felony terrorist act counts and a misdemeanor battery rap.
