Man with machete face tattoo accused of machete attack

Florida nutcase with picture of broad-bladed weapon inked below his eye allegedly swung real one in victim’s face.

Although physiognomy, the practice of assessing a person’s character from their face, has been widely discredited, some folks remain determined to leave telling clues on their countenances.

A Florida man with a machete tattoo on his visage joins the campaign against hermeneutic uncertainty championed in recent months by such as the Indianan furrowed with the inked slogan “Crime Pays”.

But in this latest case life really does imitate body art.

Justin Couch may have a mug distinctively inscribed with a broad blade but that hasn’t stopped him getting arrested for allegedly using one in real life to attack someone over the weekend.

The 25-year-old is accused of slicing the victim’s forearm with a machete, leaving him unable to move his left hand, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, an adult male, told deputies that the incident unfolded Monday at around 2:30 p.m., when Couch began arguing with him “for no reason” and kicked him out of a home in Tarrytown.

When the victim asked if he could take his wallet and cellphone before leaving, Couch allegedly said “There’s nothing here for you, leave.”

He then “began striking the victim in the arm and leg” with the flat side of a machete’s blade before swinging the weapon at the victim’s face,” deputies said.

The victim raised his left forearm to block his face and was sliced with the blade before feeling “severe pain” and passing out.

Couch then apparently took the the victim to the house of an unknown friend, who helped the man get to hospital.

He was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery.

It’s not clear whether he plans to visit a tattoo removal clinic ahead of his court hearing.
