A missing pregnant woman has been found dead in her Texas boyfriend’s freezer.
23-year-old mom-of-two Selena Ann Bradley was discovered Monday inside the kitchen freezer by officers searching the San Angelo home of her boyfriend, William James Martinez, 39, news station KTXS reported.
Bradley, who had been missing since Friday, was wrapped in a blue tarp in the freezer, police said.
The cause of death has not yet been released, but bruises on her neck and face suggest she had been “struck and assaulted,” according to investigators. She was pregnant with her third child at the time of her death.
Police were helped in locating the body by several recent admissions Martinez had made to others.
He allegedly told friend Tony Chambliss that “he had done something terrible and … would go to prison for life,” confessing there was a body in the freezer, the local channel reported.
Martinez is also said to have called Stephanie Rios, the mother of his four-year-old daughter, and admitted to Bradley’s murder.
While it’s not clear when Bradley was killed, her mother alleges that Martinez posed as Bradley in a Facebook post on Saturday assuring others she was fine.
Martinez also reportedly denied harming Bradley in a phonecall with her mother the same day.
Police tracked Martinez down to a car wash in Abilene, Texas, around 10 p.m. Monday, according to the outlet.
But when they tried to perform a traffic stop, Martinez sped off, leading cops on a high-speed chase.
He ended up crashing his car into a field in Hamlin, but managed to escape without being apprehended.
However, on Tuesday police received a tip about a man walking with a limp near South Central Avenue who turned out to be Martinez.
He was arrested for murder and taken to Jones County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
