“Thief” busted trying to rob same bank two days in a row

California crook Samuel Brown was caught attempting to stick up a Chase branch he had allegedly plundered just the day before.

Sometimes it really is better to quit while you’re ahead!

A cocky California bank robber got caught after he returned to extract more loot from the same branch he allegedly plundered the day before.

Samuel Brown, 33, came unstuck this week when he tried to rob the same Chase bank in Fountain Valley, 30 miles south of Los Angeles, two days in a row, police said.

The San Diego resident made off with “a large amount of cash” after he passed a note demanding money to a teller at a Chase branch on Newhope Street at around 3 p.m. Monday, Fountain Valley Police said in a press release.

But far from being content with that day’s ill-gotten gains, Brown allegedly went back to the bank the very next morning to do it all again.

Cops alerted to the robbery arrived at around 11:15 a.m. and arrested him without incident, according to the release.

Brown had an outstanding arrest warrant and previous convictions for robbery in San Diego, police said.

He was being held on $170,000 bail in Orange County Jail and faces multiple robbery charges.
