Detroit resident tells male friend to stop using his tongue, then takes piece of the offending organ clean off with her teeth.
Many of us, especially in our teenage years, have worried from time to time whether our kissing was up to scratch. Or maybe we ourselves have had an intimate brush with someone whose oscular technique left a lot to be desired.
But a Detroit woman has taken clumsy smooching to a whole new level.
Youlette Wedgeworth, 52, was visiting her “friend” at his apartment last Tuesday when the two shared a consensual kiss. The man used his tongue, which Wedgeworth didn’t appreciate and she told him to stop.
Then, as the kissing continued, she chose to make the point a little more forcibly, allegedly biting the tip of the man’s tongue clean off.
Police called to the scene found the poor fellow bleeding from the mouth and in need of hospital treatment. They also located a detached piece of his tongue, measuring about an inch, in the bedroom, according to a report by WXYZ.
The victim, a 68-year-old from Center Line, Michigan, who wishes only to be known as Arthur, told 7 Action News it was “the most painful thing” he’d experienced in his life.
He said he’d met Wedgeworth through friends a few months ago. The two had kissed before, he claims, but on this occasion “she snapped.”
Arthur will probably be left with a speech impediment, as doctors were unable to reattach the forlorn segment. Instead they froze and stitched up what was left.
Macomb County Prosecutor Eric J. Smith said he had never seen the like in 27 years on the job.
“This wasn’t a push or a punch or a nibble,” Smith stated. “This was blood, pieces of tongue and the police and ambulance. It turned crazy in a very short amount of time.”
Wedgeworth certainly has history, having pleaded guilty to an assault charge back in 1997 and later absconded from probation.
She’s now in Malcomb County Jail on a $25,000 bond, no doubt chewing over her predicament as she faces a charge of misdemeanor aggravated assault.
