Club owner launches “Boober Eats” to offer crisis food delivery with a difference

The global pandemic continues to reshape every aspect of life in America, in ways that were barely imaginable just a few short weeks ago.

Certainly, many small businesses are scrambling to find ways to keep cash coming in amid unprecedented restrictions.

One establishment has found a cheeky answer. An Oregon strip club called Lucky Devil Lounge has rebranded itself as a food and drink delivery service called “Boober Eats” in homage to the food delivery arm of the ride hailing giant.

Shon Boulden, the club’s owner, originally posed the idea as a joke on Facebook, but he later decided to launch the service after people expressed a huge amount of interest online. “I originally did it at first as a joke and it got 150 shares on Facebook. It’s like nothing we’ve ever had before,” he told the Oregonian.

To stay “on brand”, the women wear “pasties and booty shorts,” Boulden said. They will also dance briefly for each customer before moving on to their next delivery while keeping sanitary with disinfectant spray.

The businessman said that he has been surprised by the level of interest in the new service – and the desire for a “special delivery” to lift the spirits in tough times.

“All the calls, people are just giddy and fun,” Boulden says. “Sometimes it’s a surprise for someone, sometimes it’s a birthday, sometimes it’s people that are really stoned.”

Unsurprisingly, customers shouldn’t expect Boober Eats to be bringing them the most healthy fare.

Boulden told Willamette Week News that the service delivers the club’s full menu, including chicken fingers, steak bites and mini corn dogs, at their standard prices. Also available from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.: alcoholic drinks, ginger beer and Red Bull. A delivery fee of $30 is also added, depending on the customer’s distance from Lucky Devil Lounge. Boulden also says a generous tip is important to “look after the girls”.

Dancers arrive escorted by a formidable bodyguard — to ensure their safety, foremost, and also be sure that self-isolating and potentially infected punters don’t get too close with their hands or other body parts.
