For a professional thief, committing a burglary can take a reasonable degree of planning. There is the selection of the target property and figuring out the movements of the home’s occupants, all of which may require careful reconnaissance.
Then there is the question of what apparel to wear on the job. In days gone by, a professional would opt for a top with black and white stripes and a black face-mask, allowing them to keep cool and move fast if forced into a foot chase.
But it seems those rules were thrown out of the window by a would-be thief in Tennessee.
Richard Muzick has been charged with aggravated burglary after he allegedly attempted to enter a property dressed as a gorilla.
Muzick, 31, is alleged to have entered the home in suburban Nashville around 2pm on Sunday April 26th, according to information released by police in Mt. Juliet.

Apparently, Muzick’s intrusion and gorilla costume frightened a six-year-old girl at the house before the adult homeowner chased the fake primate into the back yard and confronted him.
Muzick then immediately fled the property on Dunedin Drive as police were called. Officers apprehended the man, still dressed in his costume, moments later as he tried to make good his escape.
According to police, Muzick has already claimed that he thought he was at someone else’s home, and was looking for that person, The Tennessean reported.
The investigation continues. Meantime, Muzick was booked into the Wilson County Jail.
