If landing a job as a movie stuntman is the goal, this is one (unadvisable) way to start building a compelling work portfolio.
A man was filmed clinging to the hood of a moving semi-tractor trailer on a Florida highway on Saturday – but what prompted the crazy caper remains a mystery.
The dangerous action sequence worthy of the big screen unfolded just after 1 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike, leaving onlookers dumbfounded.
In a video posted to social media, a man in a car filming the episode gasps “What the f**k?” as he watches the truck speed along the highway while swinging from side to side in an apparent attempt to shake-off the free-riding nutcase.
The clip, originally uploaded to Facebook by Erik Morales and later shared on Twitter, shows the man hanging on for dear life to the truck’s hood while somehow landing blows with one hand on the vehicle’s already badly damaged windshield.
At one point in the footage the truck driver even slams on the brakes, but the man continues to hold on and yells something at the group recording the incident.
The unidentified bedlamite had leapt onto the hood of the northbound truck after getting out of another car on the highway, WPTV reported.
A friend of the man told cops the duo were heading southbound on the turnpike in a Toyota SUV when the man suddenly got out of the car on a ramp, walked across the highway divider and hopped onto the truck.
The man managed to ride on top of the hood for nine miles, from mile marker 86 to 95, before a Florida highway patrol trooper pulled the truck over.
He was taken to hospital for evaluation and no arrests were immediately made.
