An Indiana man who decorated his own forehead with the pithy saying “CRIME PAYS” may still turn things around. But he’s been on a bad run of late.
38-year-old Donald Murray of Terre Haute first found himself living at odds with his prominent tattoo in December, when local police tried to pull him over for driving without headlights.
During the ensuing high-speed car chase, Murray drove into a tree but managed to make a getaway on foot. However, the incident featured on TV show “Live PD”, and he was eventually arrested, local news station WTWO reported.
The inked-up outlaw might have put that episode down to a blip in an otherwise upward trajectory of profitable criminality, but for the fact that the long arm of the law has hauled him in again.
Murray, who only got out of jail on Jan. 14, was arrested once more Monday morning by Terre Haute police following another car chase, according to WTWO.
This time his charges include resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and auto theft.
Murray’s to date unprosperous criminal career now leaves some tough decisions. He could bank on his luck changing, or tell people the tattooed maxim only applies to his lawyer.
