Hamlet bemoaned the law’s delay, but some just deserts are swiftly administered.
Just ask Pano Michael Dupree, a South Carolina lawyer who was floored by a punch from a female bystander after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at a bowling alley.
The 58-year-old attorney is accused of initiating the violence after showing up with his girlfriend at Ashley Lanes bowling alley in Charleston on March 19, news station WCBD reported.
Witnesses allege that the pair started arguing, prompting Dupree to approach his girlfriend from behind and place her in a chokehold while yanking her hair.
When another woman saw what was happening, she ran over and punched Dupree in the face, knocking him to the ground, according to the police report.
The lawyer allegedly took a large chunk of the victim’s hair with him as he hit the deck, where he was still lying when cops arrived, WCSC reported.
Dupree was taken to hospital for treatment before being booked into jail on charges of third-degree assault and battery.
His booking photo clearly shows the damage dished out by the unknown woman, including a black eye, cuts and bruises.
Dupree was later released on $1,087 bond and is due back in court May 5.
It is not clear whether he plans to represent himself.
