Then, much more seriously, a member of a Trump-supporting group called Patriot Prayer was allegedly shot in cold blood by a Far Left activist, Michael Reinoehl, solely because of his political viewpoint.
Now, police in Colorado are investigating allegations that a woman assaulted a 12-year-old boy because he was carrying a Trump lawn sign while riding his bicycle.
Boulder Police said they were called to an assault which occurred at Folsom and Greenwood on Monday.
The victim’s father, Jesse Rosales, told The Denver Channel that the woman had attacked his son after riding past him on a moped.
The 12-year-old told his father that the woman came up to him and said, “You want something to look at?” before hitting him several times on the back of his head and arms.
The woman used a closed fist to strike the child, police said.
The boy was not seriously hurt during the incident, but was left with a scratch on his arm which “burned,” his father said.
According to police, the female suspect was riding a gray or blue moped when she saw the boy with the sign.
The woman then made a U-turn and “began assaulting him because of his political banner.” Police said the woman also unsuccessfully attempted to remove the banner.
The suspect is described as a white female in her 20s or 30s. She was wearing a tan jacket, blue shirt and blue jeans at the time of the alleged offense.
“The father of the victim was made aware of this situation,” a Boulder Police blotter said. “This is still under investigation.”
The boy claimed that this is not the first time he has been targeted because of his support for President Donald Trump, although an adult has never done so before.
He said that the woman originally “just looked at me and laughed” as she rode past before turning around and assaulting him.
