Dunkin’ employee arrested after spitting in police officers’ drinks

First it was woke Starbucks, now it is good old Dunkin’. This spitting war against the police is getting seriously disgusting.

Just weeks after a barista at a New Jersey Starbucks admitted to systematically spitting in the coffees he brewed for cops, an employee at a Dunkin’ outlet in Illinois has been caught doing the same.

The employee at the Dunkin’ location in Chicago was fired and arrested Friday after he spat in a law enforcement officer’s drink.

An Illinois State Trooper who purchased a coffee from the store removed the lid of the hot beverage to allow it to cool.

That’s when he saw “a large, thick piece of mucus, which was later confirmed to be saliva,” police said.

After a brief investigation, 25-year-old Vincent Sessler was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, reckless conduct and battery to a peace officer.

“This is outrageous and disgusting,” said Brendan F. Kelly, director of the Illinois State Police. “The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day. They deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment.”

A Dunkin’ spokesman told CNN that Sessler’s actions were inconsistent with the company’s values.

“Dunkin’ has a deep appreciation for police officers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, and the franchise owner has reached out directly to the officer to apologize for the experience,” the spokesman said.

State Police Director Kelly has now banned Illinois State Police employees from shopping at the Dunkin’ location “for their safety.”

Let’s hope this stops, and soon.
