Arrestee gets one for the photo album

Some folks go to great lengths to engineer the perfect shot; others have a keen eye for a photo op when one comes their way.

For one camera-happy guy it’s likely, though not certain, to be the latter.

Heath Swafford, 24, lost out in a foot chase on Saturday in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama, with deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MSCO).

Yet he managed to snatch photographic victory from the jaws of criminal defeat, rounding off the decade with a snap to stand out in any album.

Swafford was arrested on four felony probation revocation warrants of possession of a controlled substance, theft of property, receiving stolen property and first-degree criminal mischief, according to a statement from the MSCO.

Undeterred by the manner of their recent acquaintance, however, he made a highly unusual request to be photographed with the arresting officers.

A handcuffed Swafford and the team of deputies are shown beaming like best buddies in the resulting shot, published on the MSCO’s Facebook page.

Swafford was found to be in possession of meth and heroin at the time of the arrest, and deputies later discovered a stolen motorcycle at his residence.

He is also linked with further drug and property crimes, and is currently being held without bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

It’s expected that Swafford will now do more work on his posing, in hope of an obliging judge.
