Boy, 11, pistol whips driver to help mom in carjacking

A Missouri 11-year-old proved a handy asset to his family this week – by pistol whipping a driver as his mom carried out a carjacking.

The mother-and-son duo took off in an SUV in St. Louis at around 8.40 p.m. Tuesday after allegedly forcing its stunned 48-year-old driver out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

The victim, who wasn’t named, was filling up his 2017 Nissan Rogue at a gas station in the city’s Vandeventer neighborhood, KSDK-TV reported, citing police sources.

The mother approached the man and asked if he would drive her and her son to a nearby address.

After the man agreed, the mom allegedly grabbed the keys from the ignition as her young sidekick whipped out a handgun and whacked the driver in the face.

The mother then dragged the victim out of the car, and the two hopped in and sped off.

Webster University counseling expert Dr. Muthoni Musangali told KSDK-TV of her alarm that someone so young was already caught up in crime.

“I just think this puts him on the wrong path,” Musangali said. “Desensitization to violence at such a young age, it means the young boy may be more likely to engage in violence, aggressive behavior or even criminal activity in the future.”
